PRINZ announce new partnership agreements with NZ tertiary institutions

Over the last 6 months PRINZ CE Susanne Martin has been working with a select number of tertiary institutions across Aotearoa to operationalise our 2024-2026 Strategic Plan pou of “Providing professional development pathways for our members”.   An integral part of this was to develop MOUs with these institutions to agree to work collaboratively to enhance the professional education of the PR and communications sector.

Today we are delighted to announce the signing of 4 partnership agreements with the following institutions; AUT (Auckland University of Technology), UoC (University of Canterbury), VuW ( Victoria University of Wellington) and Wintec (Te Pūkenga).

For the next 2 years, PRINZ will work with these institutions to:

  • Sponsor student awards recognising and rewarding academic excellence or contribution to the professional field of public relations and communications
  • Develop and carry out collaborative academic and other activities, such as panel events, workshops and guest teaching
  • Foster talent in the PR and Communications sector promoting excellence and innovation
  • Enhancing PRINZ brand visibility within academic institutions
  • Realise our corporate social responsibility
  • Build relationships between the institutions and communications professionals

PRINZ CE Susanne Martin says the institute is “delighted and excited” by the establishment of the MOUs.

“As an integral part of our strategic plan, providing support and guidance to the next generation of professional and ethical public relations and communications practitioners is viewed by our members as an essential component of our organisation’s offering.”

The University of Canterbury’s Department of Media and Communication head Tara Ross says the partnership further strengthens their department’s ability to connect students with industry leaders and real-world opportunities.

Tara comments “This collaboration will give our students a more direct pathway into their professional careers by helping them build networks, gain mentorship and access a range of resources. For the department, too, the partnership will help ensure that our programme remains innovative, relevant and future-focused. It is a win-win for us all.”

This is a significant milestone for PRINZ and we are excited to see the tangible benefits for our members, current and future.
