Introducing the 2025 Joseph Peart Award Winners

At the 2025 PRINZ Awards Gala Dinner, the Joseph Peart Award was presented to Kate Barlow and Robin Raymond for achieving the highest grades in 2024 APR programme. Kate and Robin tied in their final mark for the programme making them joint recipients of the Joseph Peart Award this year.

Kate Barlow is currently the Senior Corporate Affairs Leader for Fletcher Building. She comments “Completing my APR was a great opportunity to step back and reconnect with the foundations of effective communications.  The course gave me new perspective to my day-to-day work, refreshed my skills, and help me build on what I already knew. PR isn’t a precise science, more often than not you find yourself navigating pools of ambiguity – APR has boosted my confidence to trust my instincts as I it turns out I know more than I give myself credit for!  I met some awesome people in my cohort and throughout the course and was very honoured (and surprised!) to receive the Joseph Peart Award. I’d absolutely recommend the programme to anyone looking to sharpen their thinking and lift their practice.”

Robin Raymond is currently the Senior Communications Advisor at Selwyn District Council. He comments “As one of the many who came into comms from a journalist background I’ve very much learnt on the job. I’ve worked in comms roles for just over 10 years, working in the charity sector supporting work around the south pacific and now in local government. APR is a challenge, but also a fantastic opportunity to take a step up in your learning and gain valuable experience for your future. In a fast-paced work environment it was a chance to stop and think more deeply about why and how we do things, as well as to learn practical skills from some of the top experts in the industry.”

PRINZ congratulates them for their great achievements and wishes them the best for their careers ahead. Applications for the next APR programme will open in early 2026. To find out more about the programme, click here
