Kate Monahan Communications

I am a writer and public relations consultant, with more than 20 years’ experience working in media and communications.

I currently run my own agency, representing a range of clients, taking on ad hoc projects as well as long-term contracts.

My expertise is as a long-form journalist; I’m adapt at research, interviewing and writing compelling stories. I’ve written four books and am currently working on a fifth.

As an award-winning storyteller, I also enjoy developing content for clients which can be used in own, earned and paid media – including press releases, website content and social media posts.

I have worked for large media companies, including Stuff and Time Inc, as well as for entrepreneurs and start-ups.

I am a communications generalist with experience in communications strategy, media relations, leadership communications and change management, community engagement, government relations and crisis communications..

I am a proud member of PRINZ, with an Accreditation in Public Relations (2019). I am on the local Waikato PRINZ committee, helping to organise events for local members.

I have worked in and written about a range of industries including transport and road infrastructure, education, child protection, fashion and beauty, food and nutrition, health, agriculture and dairying, business innovation, and more.
