Calling for PRINZ Executive Committee nominations

The Public Relations Institute of New Zealand (PRINZ) is calling for applications from eligible members interested in serving as Executive Committee members.

Of the possible 5 elected Executive Committee members – Morwenna Mitson-Grills APR, Jacquie Boer APR, FPRINZ and Eruini Paranihi – will step down from their positions. There are two remaining elected committee members, Celia Crosbie APR and Travis Logan APR. Therefore, there are three committee member vacancies to be voted on.

Members are invited to express their interest in election to these vacancies for a two-year term commencing in June 2026.

  • The PRINZ Executive Committee is responsible for governing and setting the strategic direction of the Institute’s activities
  • The Chair is elected by the committee at its first meeting for a two-year term
  • Co-opted members can be appointed by the committee at its first meeting.

PRINZ is the industry body for public relations and communication management professionals in Aotearoa. Our purpose is to enhance the capability and professionalism of public relations practitioners through professional development opportunities and promote public understanding of public relations through advocacy.

The current PRINZ Executive Committee has developed a refined strategic plan centred around strong governance and financial performance. Elements of the plan are already being implemented, and you will be key to finalising, evolving and driving this plan for the benefits of our members.

Joining the committee is an opportunity to join passionate public relations and communications professionals, deploy your extensive strategic thinking and empower initiatives that will see PRINZ continue to build relevance and advance the profession.

The PRINZ Executive Committee plays an active and visible leadership role in the industry sector, and the committee are seeking strategy-focused sector leaders to guide the institute to its next phase of organisational growth.

All nominees should be able to demonstrate a commitment to leadership, integrity, a passion for public relations and communications, business acumen, and an understanding of best practice corporate governance.

The committee value and seek diversity as defined by gender, ethnicity, age, role, and level of board experience and welcome applications from all eligible members.

The nature of the PRINZ industry sector requires a working committee, with a current focus on supporting organisational growth. Committee members should expect to contribute at least 4 hours a month in their role, in addition to attending 6 board meetings (teleconferences of approximately 1.5 hrs) and at least 1 face-to-face meeting per year.

Committee members may also be asked to attend and host PRINZ events, and events hosted by our valued partners.

Appointment to the committee will be determined by election from the membership prior to the upcoming AGM via our website. Please note that the nominee must be a current financial member on application. They will also be required to complete and submit a candidate statement, declaration of eligibility and professional references.
