Overview

If there’s been one constant over the rapidly changing media landscape in Aotearoa these last few years, it’s been the rise of dedicated business media. In partnership with Network Communication and Lion, PRINZ presents a unique opportunity to meet, hear from and quiz the new leaders in focused business news content.

Your speakers are

Hamish McNicol, Co-editor at NBR

Hamish returned to the NBR in September 2020, having spent the previous three years in London. There, he became corporate counsel editor at leading legal industry publication, Legal Business, covering in-house, private practice and legal technology and innovation. Hamish was awarded EY Young Journalist of the Year while at NBR in 2016, and has also worked at Stuff, the Dominion Post and Forbes Indonesia.
He was appointed co-editor of NBR in mid-2022.

Victoria Young, Editor at BusinessDesk

With a professional career spanning New Zealand, Singapore and London, Victoria Young has been with BusinessDesk since 2019, initially as a senior reporter before taking on the role of investigations editor in 2022, then editor in 2024. She has been instrumental in growing BusinessDesk as a premium business news brand.
Victoria holds law and arts degrees from Victoria University in Wellington, and was the 2023 recipient of a Brian Gaynor initiative grant.
She is the co-founder of Kaimac, a professional network for Kiwi Asians in media and communications.

Nona Pelletier, Senior business news reporter at RNZ National

Nona Pelletier is an Auckland-based senior business news reporter for RNZ National, covering a wide of topics, including markets, economics, energy, trade and technology. She is a regular commentator on Checkpoint – RNZ’s drivetime news programme.

Nona was recently named technology reporter of the year by the Tech Users Association of NZ (Tuanz).
