You will gain valuable insight into what you can expect from an early public relations career, and an understanding of what you can do now to prepare for the future.

Celine Kao
Growing up in the digital age means I’ve always been tuned in to everything new, trendy, and emerging in our cultural landscape. Naysayers may lump me in with the category of ‘lazy millennials glued to their phones’, and while I could definitely stand to reduce my screen time, it’s also given me a front seat view of incredible progress unfolding on things I’m passionate about, (e.g. social issues, mental health, sustainability, self-empowerment, youth issues) made possible by good, purpose-driven, honest communications.
Although I’m in the very early stages of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to dabble in government relations, corporate social responsibility, and social marketing across corporate, agency, and non-profit, and every day I’m excited to see where this dynamic and creative industry takes me. I’m currently based in Auckland, New Zealand, doing comms for a mental health charity and hopefully doing my bit to leave a positive impact on the world. Ultimately, I’d like to relocate abroad and develop my skillset in a PR agency focused on social change.
This event is brought to you by PRINZ Northern Division Committee.
Half an hour of drinks and mixing; the event will properly begin around 6/6:15pm.
