Your panellists are:
Kelly Hawkins, Engagement Communications Lead at 2degrees
Kelly is a senior communications specialist who has spent a large part of her career working in the field of internal communications across a wide range of industries and sectors in New Zealand, Japan and Australia. Tertiary qualified in International Communication, she spent her early years working in the field of cross-cultural communications as well as external media relations in both the government and private sector, before finding her happy place and specialising in internal communications and organisational change. Employee engagement is always at the centre of her thinking, and she often refers to internal communications as the heartbeat of an organisation.
She has a particular interest in providing Executive counsel and advice on engagement and strategy implementation, as well as supporting companies through high risk/high impact issues and crisis management.
And speaking of issues and crisis management – a fun fact: she was nicknamed the Covid Futurist during her time at the law firm Russell McVeagh, for her role in communicating and preparing the firm through the very early days of the pandemic long before Covid had even made its way to New Zealand!
Scott Sinclair, Senior Manager of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand
Scott is the Senior Manager, Communications & Stakeholder Engagement at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and leads the Government Relations, External Communications, and Corporate, Industry and International relations teams. Scott previously worked at the Commerce Commission on standing up communications and engagement for the grocery regulatory regime and was Strategic Communications Manager at the Department for the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s COVID-19 unit, who were responsible for all-of-government COVID-19 communications and the Unite Against COVID-19 channels. Prior to moving back to New Zealand in 2020, Scott worked in the United Kingdom as Head of Policy & Public Affairs for the charity Marie Curie.
Lucy Fox, Principal of Sherson Willis
Lucy has spent the last ten years in agency, honing her client-service skills and supporting teams to deliver strategic, insight-led communications projects across a range of verticals. Her previous roles have been leadership focussed, spanning corporate and consumer, where she has leveraged industry and media connections to foster engagement and drive results.
A natural storyteller, Lucy is focussed on understanding business objectives and desired outcomes, ensuring bespoke, values-centric solutions are delivered to stakeholders. She is responsible for supporting Sherson Willis’ group of specialist consultants to craft tailored communications plans that hit the mark for corporate leaders, and is dedicated to nurturing client relationships.
