Wellington Event: Political campaigning in the age of AI and what to expect in the US election

October 3 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am

Free – $20.00

Thursday 3rd October 2024 @ 7:30am-9am

Overview

Just how low will it go in the upcoming US Elections when it comes to the use of misinformation and disinformation and the use of AI in political campaigning? And how do you maintain an ethical standard in the face of opposition that is willing to break all the rules?

These tough questions and more will form the basis of a discussion with Professor Todd Belt from George Washington University. Sponsored by the US Embassy to visit Aotearoa, Dr Belt has spent many years studying not only campaigns and elections but also mass media and politics and even The Presidency itself.

He’ll talk us through new trends in campaign management and what that could mean for us here in Aotearoa.

Join us for a light breakfast, networking and this rare chance to hear from Professor Belt. This event is free for members.
