Overview

Join the Taranaki sub-committee of PRINZ at stunning New Plymouth venue Te Whare Hononga as we canvass relationship
building with iwi and Māori organisations.

Our panel discussion will be facilitated by New Plymouth District Councillor Dinnie Moeahu and include South Taranaki district councillor and Māori creative business owner Tuteri Rangihaeata, Ngā Iwi o Taranaki marketing and communications manager Hayley Olliver and engagement specialist and communications consultant Kelsey Waitere.

They will take us through their case studies, detail challenges and offer insights into the importance of genuine engagement within a Taranaki context.

Event open to all with drinks and nibbles provided from 5.30pm in Manu Hononga (Sir Paul Reeves Centre) followed by the panel discussion next door at 6.15pm in Te Whare Hononga, 39 Vivian Street, New Plymouth Central.

Your panel…

Dinnie Moeahu (Te Atiawa, Ngāruahine, Taranaki, Te Arawa, and Ngāti Porou) is a second term New Plymouth District Councillor who is currently in his second year of his PhD studying the significance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in local government. He was awarded the 2019 Taranaki Daily News Person of the Year for services to charity and community. 

An experienced and entertaining MC, he will facilitate our panel and offer insights from his own journey in building sustainable relationships with mana whenua within local government and community.

Hayley Olliver (Te Atiawa and Ngāi Tahu) is a powerhouse in communications and event management with a rich career across commercial and public sectors.

Most recently, she has been supporting Ngā Iwi o Taranaki by fostering meaningful connections and driving community involvement through her role as marketing and communications manager.

Kelsey Waitere (Te Atiawa) of Whaitere Consulting is an engagement expert. She is uri of Puketapu hapū who previously worked in local government supporting both community and mana whenua engagement.

She has helped guide organisations and individuals through genuine engagement underpinned by collaboration, co-design and partnership. 

Tuteri Dal Rangihaeata (Taranaki Iwi, Ngā Ruahine, Ngāti Ruanui, Ngā Rauru) is a South Taranaki District Councillor and board member of both Te Runanga o Ngāti Ruanui and Te Punanga Ora, the Taranaki Māori health partnership board.

His extensive marketing and strategic communications experience spans health, education and iwi sectors throughout Aotearoa.  He nis director of the Māori creative agency, Waha as well as Wairua Pai, a communication and report tech company.
