This webinar considers the role of empathy in unlocking shared understandings and increasing the tolerance of differences\, so that communication can happen. Learn about what empathy means in practice; how our values and biases influence our ability to connect; how to find common ground; and grab some practical tools for building empathy into your practice and your life. Julia moved to Aotearoa in 2000 and has brought her skills to a range of wicked problems in the public sector including infrastructure\, transport\, urban development\, environment and housing. She comes originally from the Shetland Islands – a remote archipelago that purports to have the world’s most difficult to master regional accent. 						\n				\n					\n		\n				\n			\n						\n				\n																										\n				\n					\n		\n					\n		\n					\n		\n					\n		\n				\n						\n					\n			\n						\n				\n							Kassy Hayden\, MA  Kassy is a strategist and writer who cares deeply about what happens to people and the environment. She first got into communications after studying journalism and being asked to join a child protection agency’s challenging work programme. Driven to make a difference\, she has since worked across many sectors of society as a consultant and manager.  Alongside her work in communications\, Kassy has been a fashion journalist\, menswear designer\, published literary translator and Asia 21 Young Leader\, representing Aotearoa.
