DESCRIPTION:Wednesday 29th November – 12-1pm\nOverview\nThere is one agenda item for consideration at this meeting.  It is as follows: \n\nThe following section of the current constitution (May 2022) has an error that reads as:\n\nBOARD  \n\nThe Board will consist seven Members as follows:\n\n         a)four Members of the Institute elected as Board members by the Members of the Institute in accordance with this Constitution \n         b)the Board will co-opt an additional five Board members with full voting rights.  \nWith four members in a) and five members in b) this totals nine members in total for the board and not the seven as listed. \nThis meeting is called to address both this anomaly and also reflect the officially gazetted  Incorporated Societies Regulations 2023\, which came into force on 5 October 2023.   The board recommends member approval to update the PRINZ Constitution to: \nBOARD  \n\nThe Board can consist of nine Members as follows: \n\n       a) five Members of the Institute will be elected as Board members by the Members of the Institute in accordance with this Constitution   \n       b) the Board can co-opt an additional four Board members with full voting rights.    \nPRINZ constitution requires 5% of the current membership to ratify this change.  Please RSVP below if you can attend and vote.  Should you be unable to attend but would like your vote registered please complete the proxy from available here and forward to office@prinz.org\,nz before the RSVP deadline of 5pm November 28th. \nZoom links will go out closer to the date to allow for those last minute sign ups! KP was also previously Director of the NZ Rugby Foundation. \n \nVanessa Horne\, Chief Executive of the Commerce Commission  \nVanessa is acting Chief Executive until the end of January 2024. In her substantive role\, Vanessa manages the Commission’s Fair Trading Branch. She is a highly experienced and capable leader in strategy\, operations\, policy development\, service design\, and law. Most recently Group Manager\, Overseas Investment Office at Land Information New Zealand (LINZ)\, she has extensive ministerial and legislative experience. Her legal background spans radio spectrum auctions\, Financial Service Provider legislation\, rural broadband and energy safety. Vanessa also has a strong track record of growing and developing people and building strong\, impactful teams through periods of change. Vanessa has a degree in Public Policy (Masters) from Massey University. \n \nJanet Carson\, Chief Executive Gas NZ \nAs Chief Executive\, Janet leads advocacy and communications\, and policy engagement\, for GasNZ. Janet’s background is in public relations and external affairs and she’s worked for companies with a range of energy interests\, including oil and gas\, geothermal and solar. She served on the board of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA). Janet has an LLB from the University of Waikato. \n \nOUR MC for the evening \n Lindsey Brittain\, Director of Turas Consulting & Coaching Limited \nWith 26 years’ experience in Marketing\, Comms & Business Management\, including senior roles in the public sector\, Lindsey has set up Turas\, which means ‘journey’ in Scottish Gaelic.  She says: “There aren’t many coaches for leaders in Marketing & Comms who are also a practitioner.  I get it – I’ve travelled the road myself and there’s not much I haven’t seen or done.” \nTuras helps Marketing & Comms leaders conquer stereotyping\, hierarchy & bureaucracy\, enabling them to connect strategically into the business and achieve real results for themselves and their organisation at the highest level.  And in doing so\, enjoy their leadership journey.

Her career has taken her around the world from covert work in Iran\, to prison in the Philippines\, to the Ross Ice shelf in Antarctica. From bus shelters with homeless people\, to interviews with world leaders and pop stars. From undercover in a yoga cult\, to camping with crocodiles in the Kimberleys. In 2020 Natasha took on her first communications role\, telling stories about the construction of Transmission Gully. She’s now a media manager for Waka Kotahi\, NZ Transport Agency\, looking after media enquiries and issues in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato. Natasha lives in Auckland where she is mum to Soren\, 9 and Marigold\, 4. Bedtime stories are a favourite these days. \n \nJenni Cochrane – Communications Manager\, Matamata-Piako District Council\nJenni Cochrane is the Communications Manager at Matamata-Piako District Council where she’s been pushing the boundaries on engagement and digital enablement since ages ago (16 years if we’re counting…). She’s transformed comms at MPDC from a one-man band to the 16-ninja comms\, digital and events squad that she leads today. Jenni’s going to share one of her team’s highlight projects from the last 18 months – Tell Tom. Tell Tom was all about redeveloping a playground that was due for renewal – but instead of a typical asset replacement\, the team decided to have fun with this one! \n \nSarah-Lee Crellin\, Associate – Communications and Engagement Beca\nSarah-Lee has spent a good part of 15 years working somewhere within the communications and engagement industry. Starting her career in Wellington she worked in Parliament\, was a media manager for multiple royal visits and worked alongside the Helen Clark for Secretary General UN campaign. Lately\, she has spent her time growing a team in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty region of excellent communications and engagement professionals for Beca – tackling some of the toughest issues communities are facing right now\, from roading infrastructure through to climate change.

She is also standing for the Hauraki-Waikato seat for Te Pāti Māori in this year’s general election. \nHana will provide an introduction to the Maaori lunar calendar and how it can influence people’s behaviours and attitudes\, and how it can guide the way we engage and communicate with people. Her maramataka flip chart (valued at $30) will be given as a gift to paid attendees. \n																										 \nTangiroa Raumati  \nTangiora Raumati (Waikato and Te Atiawa) is the 2021 Waikato PRINZ Matariki Scholarship winner\, and is a talented young wahine Maaori who is a leader and role model for other rangatahi. Over the past 12 months\, she has been mentored by Waikato PRINZ members as part of her scholarship\, and will be sharing some highlights of that during this event. \nTangiora is currently a Communications Advisor for Waikato-Tainui. She has been with the team for five years\, providing support and managing campaigns such as Tainui Games\, Waikato-Tainui’s Annual General Meeting and other tribal kaupapa.  \nBorn in the small town of Raahui Pookeka (Huntly) and raised down the road in Ngaaruawaahia\, Tangiora moved to Sydney at seven\, before returning to Hamilton to complete her schooling at Southwell School and Waikato Diocesan School for Girls. Now proud first home owners\, Tangiora and her partner are also the proud parents of a two-year-old son\, Tutahanga. \n Rangitamoana Wilson \nAs Regional Director (Waikato-Waiariki) at Te Puni Kōkiri (Ministry for Māori Development)\, Rangitamoana Wilson is an innovative leader who is passionate about working with iwi and whaanau.
