Dive in to new thinking and recharge your skills at PRINZ PR Summer Camp 2021 – an immersive and practical experience designed to refresh your capabilities and revitalise your approach.
PR Summer Camp has something for everyone – whether you’re looking for a refresher to keep you up to date or a taste of what’s new in public relations practice – it is relevant for all practitioner levels and, as well as the chance to reflect, refresh and revisit your skills, you’ll meet and network with fellow professionals*.
PR Summer Camp takes you through four phases of practice – Activate, Energise, Influence and Drive – with each phase exploring different aspects of our work. We’ll cover digital engagement, the latest developments in data, artificial intelligence and PR, mobile video basics, risk and reputation, news writing, social media, employee engagement and measurement plus what’s new and what’s ahead in an increasingly challenging operating environment.
After a packed two days of ‘ hands-on how-to sessions’ – which will see you film and produce video, create crisp copy, build a microsite and online resources – you will be ready to put your refreshed skills to work maintaining the critical relationships your organisation needs to keep its licence to operate.
Activate – we start with storytelling in all its forms:

- In the picture – essential guide to images, mobile video and the tools that make it easier
- Social stories – creating experiences, connecting your communities online, what’s in the toolbox for 2021
Energise – we put the spark into our purpose
- Reputation – are you a good reputation guardian? Explore reputation management and must-do monitoring every practitioner should undertake
- Relationships – who holds your organisation’s licence to operate? How will your advocates and activists affect your operations in the year ahead? Where do you need to build stakeholder relationships – and which do you need to repair?
- Social capital, purposeful organisations and surviving crisis
Influence – navigating change
- We look at issues and risk and how to use predictive technologies
- We explore change communication and how to map the way
- We look at leadership and leadership communication – the skills you’ll need to foster in your leadership team
Drive – getting things moving
- Creativity and employee engagement – solutions for staying involved
- Transformation – digital engagement strategies to smooth the path of change
- Trust – the new oil – how to build it, deserve it, keep it
- Results – measurement, evaluation and reporting value driven outcomes

Catherine Arrow, LPRINZ, FCIPR, Founding Chartered Public Relations Practitioner
Catherine Arrow is an international public relations consultant and educator. She heads PR Knowledge Hub Ltd, a learning and development centre for public relations and communication professionals delivering online and face-to-face training.
A PRINZ Life member, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and a Founding Chartered Public Relations Practitioner, Catherine serves on the Global Alliance Advisory Council following eight years of service as board member and secretary of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management.
Alongside her training and consultancy work, she lectures and speaks about public relations in New Zealand and around the world. Recent publications include a chapter on future public relations practice in the CIPR book, ‘Lessons from Expert Practitioners’. Her career spans the Northern and Southern Hemispheres and, in 2012, was presented with the PRINZ President’s Award for exemplary contribution to the profession.
