Navigating communications with the changing winds of the 36th America’s Cup
June 1 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
What does it take to prepare and coordinate Tāmaki Makaurau for one of the largest international sporting events at the same time as a global pandemic?
Come along to this exclusive PRINZ event to hear from key members of the host city’s project team involved in managing the successful, and most recent, 36th America’s Cup.
Auckland Unlimited General Manager of Destination, Steve Armitage and Auckland Unlimited Marketing Communications Manager for the America’s Cup, Anika Forsman will discuss their respective roles in managing the multi-faceted event.
As one of the most complex stakeholder engagement projects ever undertaken for the City, they’ll outline what three years of meticulous communications planning involved including the challenges of three respective Auckland lockdowns during the event’s competition period.
They’ll also provide key insights into what it took to coordinate a myriad of stakeholders including local and international media outlets and audiences in addition to successfully achieving unprecedented, cross-agency cooperation from a huge number of commercial, central and local government bodies.
