Crossing The Horizon – Summer Series

January 18, 2022 @ 9:30 am - January 21, 2022 @ 4:00 pm

$784.00 – $1105

18th - 21st January 2022 9:30am-4:00pm

Two years into the decade, it’s fair to say we are in a very different space.

Crossing the Horizon is a series of summer sessions for anyone looking to hone their skills, pause for thought and develop new perspectives on public relations and communication management. The sessions will provide the opportunity for participants to identify and reflect on what’s ahead and how best to prepare themselves – and their organizations – to meet the challenges and opportunities over the horizon. All sessions will be delivered online with practical elements included in each one.

Session one – ON THE HORIZON  18th Jan

Reconnaissance – where are we now?

The first session looks at risk and reputation and, using the latest Global Risk Index, identifies what’s ahead, anticipates societal change and considers the implications for relationships, social license, reputation and scenario planning.

Session two – NEW HORIZONS 19th Jan

Navigation – getting there

What skills do we need to develop – or learn – to successfully navigate the challenges ahead? Session two takes a practical dive into the practitioner toolbox and reveals a surprise or two on the direction of core competencies including digital transformation, measurement, evaluation, strategy and knowledge management.

Session three – SHIFTING HORIZONS 22nd Jan

The one constant we have is change.

Session three explores the latest thinking and research on behavioral, cultural and professional practice, with a close look at misinformation, disinformation and their role in sabotaging change. There’s a keen eye cast over the future of work, managing internal relationships and employee expectations.

Session four – BEYOND THE HORIZON 21st Jan

Where to next?

What might we find as we cross the horizon into 2022? How will the multitude of multiverses upend public relations and communication practice? What’s the next tech? Who are the disrupters? What will move us closer to – or further from – our communities? If we are only halfway through the pandemic cycle, what do we, as practitioners, need to do? Session four is designed to refresh your thinking and provide new perspectives on leadership communication and critical relationships.
