Ground Control PR is an independent Auckland public relations agency specialising in consumer, tech, FMCG and startup brands across New Zealand.

Founded by former journalists Leni Ma’ia’i and Olivia Boswell, Ground Control PR combines sharp storytelling with deep knowledge of the New Zealand media landscape and strong relationships across media, business and the creator community.

Our client experience includes some of New Zealand’s best-known local and global brands, including Boring Oat Milk, Icehouse Ventures, Les Mills, OPPO New Zealand, Griffin’s, Star Group and Coca-Cola Oceania, alongside many ambitious startups and founder-led businesses.

Our founders’ backgrounds in journalism shape the way we approach PR. We understand what makes a story newsworthy, what journalists need and how to translate a business objective into an idea that earns attention.

Ground Control is deliberately boutique and hands-on. Clients work directly with senior PR practitioners who get under the hood of their businesses, understand their commercial objectives and operate as an extension of their team. Rather than waiting for a brief, we proactively look for stories, cultural moments and opportunities that can build relevance and reputation.
